The target list is headed by the Bay of Fires in Tasmania. Among the 10 sites selected by Lonely Planet are the archipelago of Chiloé in Chile, the French region of Languedoc, the Colombian islands of San Andres and Providencia, Svalbard (Norway), the volcanoes of Hawaii, the Yunnan region of China reservation of Nam Ha, in Laos.
Euskadi, adding to the autonomous Basque Country of France, is considered by the renowned Lonely Planet travel guide one of 10 top destinations for 2009. "The Basque Country is a cocktail of fun, sun, culture and beauty," defines the guide. The landscapes of the Pyrenees, the "fantasy futuristic Guggenheim Museum and the popular festivals are the attractions that have risen to Euskadi to second place in the list of Lonely Planet's recommendations.
